About the Author

Steve spent most of his working life in large business organisations and consulting, his earlier career plans to hunt the Bigfoot professionally, sadly, had to be shelved. For the last 20 years, his focus has been on travelling, sailing and gardening at his home in East Sussex. When gardening becomes too dangerous, he reverts to reading, research for more books and writing.

While sailing round the world on his own sailing yacht Steve encountered many very varied peoples each with their own quite distinct cultures. As a result of this experience, he appreciated just how many different ways there were of seeing the world and what is happening in it.

Steve’s encounters during his travels have provided him with the inspiration for many of the characters in his works of fiction and nearly, but not quite all, the locations that feature in both fiction and factual books have been visited by him at one time or another.

Using his great imagination and sense of humour, often drawing on his own experiences, the fiction books are quite unique and blur the line between fact and fiction. While the factual books don’t blur that line, the facts themselves are often quite extraordinary, but Steve has still left room for humour, even in a book about a political party or a road.
